At Resonance, we’re all about providing you with top-notch care that fits your needs. That’s why we’re excited to offer skin and nail care appointments with our skilled Foot Therapists at select clinics. If you don’t need to see a podiatrist every time, our Foot Therapists are here to help keep your feet feeling their best!
Think of Foot Therapists as the trusted partners of our podiatrists. They’re specially trained to support all kinds of foot care—from helping with surgical procedures to fitting orthotics and footwear and maintaining healthy feet. Their role might vary slightly depending on the clinic, but one thing’s for sure: they’re an essential part of the team, working under the supervision of a podiatrist to ensure you’re in expert hands.
Our Foot Therapists don’t just have on-the-job experience; they’ve also completed the in-depth Accord Foot Therapy training program to ensure they’re ready for anything. And just like our podiatrists, they’re committed to learning and growing through ongoing professional development, so you know you’re always getting the best care possible.

What is a Foot Therapist?
A Foot Therapist is a person who is trained in, and provides, skin and nail care within our clinic. They will usually have a nursing, beauty therapy, healthcare or medical background and will undergo continuous professional development as a Foot Therapist.
What can I expect?
During an appointment your Foot Therapist will trim, shape and file nails, as well as sanding, to reduce any areas of hard rough skin. This is all done within the same clinical setting and procedures, including sterile instruments, you expect from the high level of care at any Resonance clinic. Your Foot Therapist will also provide education about skin and nail care.
Can I see a Foot Therapist about my ingrown toenail or corn?
You can see our Foot Therapist for prevention of ingrown toenails and corns, however in some cases, if they are painful, you will need to see a Podiatrist. If your Foot Therapist feels you require podiatry-level care, they will advise you of this. Podiatry appointments will need to be booked separately and have their own appointment charge. You will be advised of this when booking.
When should I see a Foot Therapist rather than a podiatrist?
Our Foot Therapists are experts at keeping your feet beautifully maintained. They can care for your toenails and dry skin, provide advice on any problem areas, and they always have a podiatrist on hand to provide support for any of the trickier foot complaints. Some of our Foot Therapists are trained in specific skills such as aesthetic nail restoration, toenail painting and even post operative care and orthotic fitting. If you have foot pain or difficult toenails it would be best to see one of podiatrists first. Our reception staff are trained to make sure you are seeing the right professional for your feet.
What does it cost to see a Foot Therapist?
The cost to see a Foot Therapist is considerably lower than a podiatrist appointment as their scope of care is much narrower. The cost to see a Foot Therapist does vary depending on your location so give your local clinic a call and reception will be able to help you with pricing. When seeing your Foot Therapist, of you happen to have a problem that requires some podiatry input this will an additional charge, either at the same time as your Foot Therapy appointment or a separate time depending on the availability of the podiatrist at your clinic. Our Foot Therapists will do everything they can to ensure your feet are comfortable and can provide advice and handy hints to help you care for your feet at home.
Is it easier to get a Foot Therapy appointment rather than a Podiatry appointment?
Our podiatrists have a very large case load, and often a waiting list making the wait times lengthier than our Foot Therapists. You may need to see a podiatrist for your initial appointment so they can resolve any major skin or nail complaint but after that you are likely to be able to see out Foot Therapist for ongoing maintenance without the worry of being able to get an appointment. Our receptionists can give you the best advice for your situation so give them a call.
How is a Foot Therapist trained?
Foot Therapy is a combination of on-the-job training, externally moderated coursework and assessments and podiatry mentoring and supervision. All of our Foot Therapists are employed and supervised by qualified and experienced podiatrists working from clinics which hold a high medical standard of clinical hygiene and sterilization. Can a Foot Therapist provide the same service as a pedicure with a beauty therapist or at a nail bar?
Many of our Foot Therapists are skilled in the art of feet pampering including nail polish application, aesthetic nail restoration, hot towels, and foot massage. We pay particular attention to using the very best products, creams, serums and nail polishes specific to your feet and their needs. No pair of feet are the same and it is important to us that yours are looked after especially for you. This service is often offered under our medical pedicure brand, Podicure. You can find out more about this here (link). Ask you local Foot Therapy clinic what Podicure service is offered in your area. The huge advantage in seeing our Foot Therapists is that they all adhere to the strict medical guidelines of sterilization and infection control not commonly forund in beauty therapy or nail salons.
