Where do I start?
Anyone with a passion for helping people in a meaningful way and NCEA Level 2 or equivalent can become a Foot Therapist. The training will differ depending on your starting place and the podiatry clinic you are working in. At Accord Training we offer a comprehensive programme for training and supporting Foot Therapists in their professional development and ongoing learning alongside the on-the-job training you will receive in clinic with your supervising podiatrist.
The first step on the path to becoming a Foot Therapist is to get in touch with Accord Training at accordtraining@respod.co.nz > Accord Training is a subsidiary of Resonance Podiatry Group so you will be joining a highly trained team of podiatry professionals who will help you every step of the way.
How can we help?
Every Foot Therapist must secure a position within a podiatry practice before they can begin training. This may be a part time or full-time role. We will assist you in finding a position within a podiatry clinic in your region but please be aware that we cannot guarantee a position will be available for you right away.
At Accord Training we have five training strands for Foot Therapy and can cater to anyone from Level 2 NCEA and minimal experience, those with a healthcare qualification or degree, right through to someone with a beauty therapy or nursing qualification. If you are dedicated and passionate about becoming a vital part of the podiatry clinical team, we can help you get there. Our programme engages third party training organisations for specific skills learning, provides regular training meetups and mentoring with our other foot therapists, an online platform for daily support, as well as a clear process for your employer/supervising podiatrist to follow.
We believe that highly trained, skilled and passionate Foot Therapists are absolutely critical to the health and wellbeing of our communities. We look forward to welcoming you onboard.
