Become a Foot Therapist

A Foot Therapist is a person who is trained in, and provides clinical support including skin & nail care within our podiatry clinics. They usually have a beauty therapy or healthcare background and will undergo continuous professional development as a Foot Therapist.

Our Foot Therapists provide non-complex skin and nail care alongside duties such as sterilisation, dressings, orthotic fitting, nail restoration, massage and other treatments they are trained and experienced in, depending on the needs of their clinic.

Foot Therapy is an open training pathway however most of our Foot Therapists will have prior nursing, healthcare, or medical technology background. The time needed to become a certified Foot Therapist depends on background qualifications and experience.

As there is no formal Foot Therapy training in NZ we have developed an individual professional development and training plan which includes on-line content, certification courses, mentoring, and Foot Therapy NZ group membership for continuing education & collab.

Accord training offers a bespoke professional development programme, where the needs of the clinic and the clinical knowledge required by the Foot Therapist form the framework to shape an individual, multifaceted learning & mentoring programme.

Accord Training is the education arm of Resonance Group. Resonance is passionate about clinical excellence and quality patient care. Our strong Leadership Team are involved in assuring the very best Foot Therapy/Podiatry Assistant clinician outcomes.
